Flydubai to connect Kolkata to Dubai in a first during lockdown

Flydubai will become the first air carrier to connect a new Indian destination to Dubai post lockdown as its maiden flight touches down at Netaji Shubhash Chandra Bose International Airport today. Fly Dubai will operate two flights between Kolkata and Dubai, one each on Mondays and Thursdays. The flights will be a part of the air bubble agreement between India and the UAE. Tickets have been priced at INR 25,000 per head for return travel and the service comes at a time when Dubai has become the number one destination for traders of apparel and electronic goods.

Flydubai expects to make the most of the Kolkata airport and explore the promising potential of the city. According to the airlines’ spokesperson, Flydubai will continue to work closely with the Indian authorities to increase the low-cost connectivity between India and the UAE, focussing on providing a greater number of affordable flights for all passengers.”x
