Yas Island concludes successful destination sponsorship of the first-ever Virtual Travel Mart



Yas Island Abu Dhabi, one of the world’s fastest-growing leisure and entertainment destinations, has concluded a successful destination sponsorship of the first-ever Virtual Travel Mart (VTM) in India, which took place from 15-16 September 2020.

As part of its efforts to continually connect and engage with key industry stakeholders, Experience Hub, a subsidiary of Miral and the trade and promotion arm of Yas Island Abu Dhabi, showcased how the destination has quickly adapted to the changes brought about by COVID-19 and has remained committed to the growth of its trade partnerships, particularly in the South Asian travel trade industry. A leading destination for many Indian travellers, Yas Island Abu Dhabi was granted a great opportunity to partner and learn from those working in the industry at VTM, as the destination prepares to welcome guests back to experience the destination like nowhere else.

Experience Hub currently has a growing network of more than 200 trade partners and 3,000 Yas Experts in India and reported 15% YoY growth from India in 2019. Aligning with its goals to invest in key markets, VTM has granted Experience Hub the opportunity to connect with a multitude of industry experts, partners, and stakeholders.

Experience Hub enjoyed strong engagement with the Indian travel trade, as the destination prepares for the future post Covid-19 ahead of the lifting of travel restrictions. This included 2,800+ registrations from agents, alongside productive virtual booths meetings, destination training sessions, and joint meetings with top trade partners such as Yatra.com, Pickyourtrail, and Clickurtrip.

To cap off the destination’s sponsorship of the event, Yas Island has introduced another round of ‘Yas Expert Competition’ which encourages travel agents and professionals to register on the online training platform, develop unmatched expertise about the island, and get a chance to win a free trip for two to Yas Island via the comprehensive ‘Yas Expert’ program.

With trade partners’ and guests’ safety as a top priority, Yas Island recently obtained the World Travel Tourism Council’s ‘Safety Seal’ stamp, the first destination in Abu Dhabi to receive the accolade. The award ensures guests’ peace of mind and provides a boost in customer confidence.
