Neliswa Nkani, Hub Head – MEISEA, South African Tourism shares a message in wake of COVID19 outbreak

Speaking to Travel News Digest, she said:

“The emergence of COVID-19 has been challenging for the world at large, and more so for the travel, tourism and aviation industries. The outbreak is constantly evolving and at South African Tourism, we remain alert and focussed toward providing our sector with critical updates and plans. The safety of visitors and citizens remains our top priority.

As an industry, we will need to wait and watch to understand how the situation further plays out, in order to put together optimum measures to revive the sector. The outbreak will have a short to medium-term impact on inbound tourism to South Africa. However, travellers have chosen to reschedule plans rather than cancel their visit which makes us optimistic for a quick revival once the situation stabilizes.
Our approach is to keep the tourism sector and all our partners across the world and in South Africa informed on a regular basis.”
