After the recent launch of Chengdu, IndiGo commenced operations to its second destination in China, Guangzhou on October 20. Guangzhou is the airline’s 23rd international destination and 83rd overall destination. IndiGo announced its entry in China in June and have already launched flights to two of the busiest and fastest-growing cities in China, Chengdu and Guangzhou.

William Boulter, Chief Commercial Officer, IndiGo said, “We are pleased to inaugurate our first flight to Guangzhou. Furthermore, the flights between Guangzhou and Kolkata will help attract more tourists on the Buddhist circuit in India, with IndiGo connecting Gaya, Varanasi and Patna with Kolkata directly. The city, also known to be the birthplace of Cantonese cuisine will be a gateway for an authentic culinary experience. This connection will strengthen trade, tourism and mobility contributing to economic growth and social cohesion between the two nations.”

Boulter further added, “IndiGo will continue to expand its network to meet the requirements of both business and leisure travellers while offering more flexibility at affordable fares, on-time performance and courteous and hassle-free flying experience.”

The new flights are designed to cater to business and leisure travellers who are constantly on the lookout for new and affordable flying options between India and China.
