Malaysia announces visa waiver programme for Indian travellers


Malaysia recently announced visa waiver programme for Indian travellers. According to the official document issued by The Electronic Travel Registration & Information (eNTRI) of Malaysia, the visa waiver programme is effective for one year from January 1  to December 31, 2019.

Indian nationals who are interested to utilise the visa waiver programme must register themselves with eNTRI system either personally or through a travel agency.

The statement confirmed, “After the applicant has successfully registered for eNTRI, the applicant must print out the eNTRI Note to bring it together to Malaysia. An eNTRI Note is only valid for a single journey to Malaysia for the maximum of 15 days each entry without any extension of the period applicants must travel to Malaysia within 90 days after they have successfully obtained an eNTRI Note.”

The entry and exit points for a traveller availing ENTRi services are Sultan Iskandar Building Immigration Checkpoint, Johor, Sultan Abu Bakar Checkpoint, Johor, Padang Besar Checkpoint, Perlis, Bukit Kayu Itam Checkpoint, Kedah, Sungai Tujoh Immigration Checkpoint, Sarawak and Tedungan Immigration Checkpoint, Sarawak.

Upon arrival in Malaysia, the applicants must furnish the eNTRI Note, boarding pass, confirmed tickets coming in and leaving Malaysia, sufficient funds, complete travel itinerary, proof of residence in Malaysia to the immigration officers at the Malaysia entry and exit points.
