Rwanda to launch robust promotional activities in 2018 to lure Indian travellers

The Rwanda High Commission along with local suppliers debuted in OTM this year. Ernest Rwamucyo, High Commissioner of Rwanda to India, informed Travel News Digest about the promotional strategies Rwanda will initiate this year in order to lure the Indian travellers.

Rwamucyo stated, “We will be undertaking quite a number of marketing activities and of course one of them was to participate at OTM 2018. A number of familiarisation trips, road shows and workshops for the travel trade and media were organised last year. This year too, similar promotional activities are lined up to grow the momentum from the Indian market.”

The Mumbai-Kigali direct flight operated by RwandAir, the flag carrier airline of Rwanda, which flies four times a week, will boost the demand further from the Indian market.

Speaking about Rwanda as an emerging outbound travel destination for the Indians, Neysa Sanghavi, Brand Ambassador for Rwanda in India, mentioned, “Rwanda is an unexplored destination and there are a lot of national parks and conservation projects for the Indian travellers to visit. Rwanda’s diverse flora and fauna cater to the needs of the diverse pool of travellers visiting the destination.”

At OTM 2018, Rwanda as a destination successfully marketed its travel products to the highly qualified buyers. The destination representatives were also able to engage in conversation with a large number of travel operators and agents from across India. In these three days, the exhibitors witnessed many inquiries about travelling to Rwanda. OTM has indeed helped us built a great network and our participation will surely boost travel to Rwanda from India, commented Rwamucyo.
