Jammu and Kashmir flags off helicopter service from Srinagar airport
To boost Kashmir’s exotic locales, Jammu and Kashmir has begun their helicopter service at `10,000 to-and-fro to resorts of Pahalgam and Gulmarg from Srinagar Airport.
Farooq A Shah, Secretary Tourism/Managing Director, Jammu and Kashmir Tourism Development Corporation (JKTDC), Government of Jammu and Kashmir said, “We want to allure guests to experience the thrill of helicopter ride over destinations like Pahalgam, Sonamarg and Gulmarg. It will also promote heli-skiing, adventure tourism, golfing, and incentive and conference tourism. As a tourist destination, Jammu and Kashmir offers the best to the tourist in the country. Be it pilgrimage, golfing, heritage, shopping cuisine and destinations, we are looking to improve our infrastructure in the next 2-3 years and we will soon be the best destination as far as infrastructure is concerned.”
JKTDC also announced marketing campaign for winter season which is characterised by 10 food festivals and roadshows to be organised in prominent and important cities of the country.
“All these cities will be targeted to generate maximum chunk of visitors for the state in the next summer and the current winter season. Prominent citizens, media and relevant travel and trade bodies will be invited to the road shows, which will be an effective platform for promoting Jammu and Kashmir by showcasing the immense tourism potential of our state,” stated Shah.
