Tourism New Zealand, Auckland Airport and Malaysia Airlines have announced their joint venture partnership for the Indian market for the travel period October 2015 to March 2016. The campaign will aim to drive high value travel to New Zealand out of Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai and Hyderabad through special promotional fares.

“2016 is the third and most crucial year for us as we unfold the last leg of our three year marketing strategy in India. In the past two years Malaysia Airlines has been a key partner for us in the Indian market and our joint ventures have been fruitful and encouraging. We aim to continue our association with Malaysia Airlines in making New Zealand more accessible to Indian travellers,” said Steven Dixon, Regional Manager-South and South East Asia, Tourism New Zealand.

New Zealand has already encountered a prominent rise in arrivals from India with 42,896 travellers for the year ending July 2015 (an increase of 25.4%) including 20,000 (23%) holiday visitors.

The new campaign looks forward to position the airlines as a preferred carrier of choice for New Zealand travel.

Tourism New Zealand’s campaign with Malaysia Airlines has recently recorded a 15% year-on-year growth for the airline with major markets in Delhi and Mumbai.
