There was ban on live music in a strand of four star hotels in Bahrain, they started to reapply for entertainment licences in expectation of the Christmas and New Year celebrations.

Hameed Al Halwachi, Culture Ministry, had announced that the ban was temporary and the hospitality sector as a whole had been adversely affected which resulted in a sharp drop in room occupancy rates.

Al Halwachi said, “Several four-star hotels that have cleared an inspection by tourism officials have now applied for permission to have live bands perform at their outlets. We expect hotels to do business during the new year as lots of tourists from the GCC like to stay in the hotels where there is live entertainment.”
