Arabian Travel Market roadshow comes to Beirut
The annual Arabian Travel Market (ATM) roadshow arrived in Beirut on 11th February, with key industry players gathering at Raouche Arjaan by Rotana to discuss marketing opportunities to showcase Lebanon’s tourism potential.
According to Global Blue statistics, total spending by tourists to Lebanon increased by 4% in Q4 of 2013, against the same period in 2012. In fact UAE visitors to Lebanon accounted for 15% of total tourist expenditure in Q4 2013, followed by travellers from Saudi Arabia (12%), Egypt and Syria (8% each), Kuwait (7%), and Jordan (6%). France accounted for 5% of all tourist expenditure, followed by the US (3%) and Nigeria (2%).
“Lebanon and in particular, its stylish cosmopolitan capital city, Beirut, is a haven for travellers seeking retail therapy, but shopping is just one of the many diverse attractions the destination has to offer,” says Mark Walsh, Portfolio Director, Reed Travel Exhibitions, the organiser of Arabian Travel Market 2014.
The theme for ATM 2014 is luxury, which is particularly relevant to Dubai and the rest of the Gulf region. The event is scheduled to be held from 5th to 8th May at the Dubai International Convention & Exhibition Centre.
