Air New Zealand declares record profits for FY13
Air New Zealand announced a net profit of $182 million for the financial year 2013, a 156% rise compared to the previous year. It is the best result declared by the company in the past five years with an upsurge of 45% in total dividends on the last year.
John Palmer, Chairman, Air New Zealand said that the airline is looking for a better result next year for possible reinvestment in products, services, and training and development to provide better customer experience. The airline plans to invest NZ$1.8 billion in the next three years in air crafts.
Christopher Luxon, Chief Executive Officer, Air New Zealand, explained, “We have 11,000 people working together with the goal of growing Air New Zealand and further enhancing our award-winning customer experience. We have a range of initiatives that will roll out during the 2014 financial year as we reinvest in the business to keep us ahead of the competition.”
