Jordan, Azerbaijan to develop joint tourism project
Jordan and Azerbaijan aim to develop a joint project in the tourism sector to attract more tourists from both countries, Jordan’s Culture Minister Barakat Avazhan said.
“The countries are to address the issue of a joint project in the field of tourism which aims to increase the number of tourists from Jordan to Azerbaijan and vice versa,” Avazhan said.
The minister said the project will be submitted to the governments of the two countries soon.
“During the visit to Azerbaijan, we became acquainted with its rich historical culture and realised the country is the centre of historical tourism,” Avazhan said.
The tourist flow to Jordan in 2012 increased by 12% taking the number of visitors to 11 million.
