Niche travel market

Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) said it will strengthen Thailand’s tourism industry by highlighting four niche markets — ecotourism, golf, weddings and honeymoons, and health and wellness at the Thailand Travel Mart Plus (TTM+) to be held between June 5-7, 2013.

Organised by Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), the mart will feature 39 niche tourism operators, according to TAT Deputy Director for International Marketing, Juthaporn Rerngronasa.

TAT Governor, Suraphon Svetasreni, said, “The authority’s priority remains unchanged. We will promote niche-market tourism as we move into a new era of marketing and development. This year, it will be more evident than ever as the entire structure of TTM+ is geared towards this strategy and connecting the right buyer to the right seller.”

TTM+ will expand from 380 sellers in 2012 to 395 in 2013, of which 86 are making their debut this year, up from 75 last year.

This year it will break new ground with two first-time events: the participation of Yunnan Provincial Tourism Administration and the introduction of debates to the Travel Forum. Both will help expand the quality of participation in Thailand’s largest business to business event, and also raise the level of intellectual discussion to a new high.
