Chiang Mai is the fourth destination in Thailand for Qatar Airways as the airline has announced that it will launch flights between Doha and Chiang Mai four-time weekly starting from December 2017 using a wide-body aircraft until May 2018.
Chiang Mai, which offers a natural gateway away from hustle and bustle of Capital city Bangkok, is known for its calm vibe and lush setting.
Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive, His Excellency Akbar Al Baker, said: “Thailand continues to grow in popularity with holidaymakers and it’s not hard to see why. Our new flights to Chiang Mai mark our fourth route to this beautiful country, reflecting the demand from our customers for more high-quality leisure destinations.”
“Our existing services to Phuket, Krabi & Bangkok are already incredibly popular, especially with customers from European countries such as the UK, France and Germany. Therefore, we are delighted to announce yet another destination, offering our renowned five-star service between Doha and Chiang Mai for leisure travellers.”
Later this year, Qatar Airlines is planning to have daily flights to Krabi from current three flights a week. This will raise the number of flights to 60 each week to Thailand.
The beginning of new seasonal service marks the ambitious recent route launches announced by the airlines which include Prague, Czech Republic; Kyiv, Ukraine and Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
