Iceland to lure 2.3 million tourists in 2017

Iceland Tourism experts estimate that as many as 2.3 million tourists might be arriving in Iceland in 2017.

Armed with selfie sticks, these tourists are likely to make a dash for this island enriched with spectacular scenic beauty, hunting for the breathtaking waterfalls, volcanoes, the backdrops of ‘Game of Thrones’ and fjords. This is about five times the footfall observed by Iceland seven years ago and it is believed that it is worth $3.4 billion and is said to contribute to about one out of every three jobs.

The fact that Iceland is home to some of the best natural attractions and the cost effective airfare is actually encouraging a greater number of travellers to catch a glimpse of this amazing destination.
