Sri Lanka is all set to play host to the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) Annual Summit 2017, which would include PATA Annual General Meeting and the PATA Youth Symposium from May 18-21. The four-day event would be held in collaboration with the Sri Lanka Convention Bureau and Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau (SLTPB).This year’s annual summit would bring together thought leaders and industry professionals from around the world under the theme ‘Disruption. Innovation. Transformation: The Future of Tourism’. PATA would also host the UNWTO/PATA Ministerial Debate, bringing together Tourism Ministers and leading industry experts to address challenging issues.
As a high-profile event, the annual summit would be a great opportunity in terms of tourism for Sri Lanka, which is expecting to bring home 2.5 million tourists this year and boost their tourism sector.
The event would showcase a distinguished line of speakers and panelists, including Secretary General, World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) Dr Taleb Rifai, Founder and CEO of ACI HR Solutions Andrew Chan, Chairman, PATA Andrew Jones and Chairman, Jetwing Hotels Hiran Cooray. These travel and tourism veterans would share their in-depth knowledge and analytical skills to make them applicable to the country’s tourism growth.
