New South Wales gears up to host the biggest winter festival – Vivid Sydney

New South Wales (NSW) is hosting the widely acclaimed, biggest winter festival – Vivid Sydney. Ushering into its 11th year in 2019, Vivid Sydney is the world’s largest festival of light, music and ideas and the pinnacle of the annual Australian events calendar.

Attracting 2.25 million attendees in 2018 and generating more than $172 million in visitor expenditure for the NSW economy, Vivid Sydney 2019 will be held from May 24 to June 15.

India has been an extremely crucial market for New South Wales with arrivals increasing every year. As of September 2018, 163,600 visitors visited NSW compared to 139,900 in September 2017 (up 16.9%).

Home to the shimmering Sydney Harbour, Opera House, red earth deserts, mountain ranges, rugged coastline and pristine beaches, New South Wales offers a plethora of Australian experiences in just one state. Famous for its World Heritage-listed Sydney Opera House and the impressive steel arch of the Harbour Bridge, the city receives heavy footfalls from Indian visitors.
