Seychelles Tourism Board conducts three city workshops

Travstarz Global Group, B2B Venture by CTRIP, the leading DMC for Seychelles concluded a three-city roadshow along with Seychelles Tourism covering Ludhiana, Indore and Baroda. The well-attended show created much interest and enthusiasm for Seychelles in these tier-II cities. Seychelles Tourism was represented by Aswini Krishna and Shakambri Soni while Travstarz was represented by Hema Manghnani, Ramanpreet Singh and Vani Singh.

Commenting on this initiative Sherin Francis, CEO, Seychelles Tourism Board said, “We are looking at creating more destination awareness among the tier-II and tier-III cities in India with a focus on increasing the number of passengers to SeychellesWe realised early on in our journey that high-end travellers are no longer limited to the main metros and a testimony to the same is the encouraging response we have got from every smaller city we have done workshops in the past few years. It is purely because of this diversification strategy that India in 2016 broke into the top 10 source markets list for Seychelles and in 2017 became the top seventh market. In 2017, 13,518 Indians visited Seychelles which was 20% increase than 2016. The arrivals for Q1 2018 are around 31% more than Q1 of 2017.”

Francis added, “We want to showcase the best of Seychelles to the right set of travel trade in the smaller cities. Hence, we partnered with Travstarz for the second year in a row as they are focused to promote and sell Seychelles and have good trade relations in these markets. We partner with all our key tour operators to help achieve the common objective i.e. significantly increasing tourist arrivals to Seychelles.”

Manghnani averred, “Seychelles remains one of our preferred destinations and we are increasingly signing new properties at Seychelles to offer the best experience across all category of hotels. All the three cities were very well attended, and it gave us an opportunity to re-connect with our agent partners who have been supporting us for our various destinations and who have assured us support for Seychelles as well. We have been closely working with Seychelles Tourism in the past and will look forward to future collaborations as well to boost the numbers to Seychelles.”
