Caribbean Travel Marketplace 2019 to be held in Jamaica

Edmund Bartlett, Minister of Tourism, Jamaica, announced that the country will host the Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association (CHTA) annual travel mart – Caribbean Travel Marketplace (CTM) in 2019. The 37th Caribbean Travel Marketplace will be held at the Montego Bay Convention Centre, Jamaica from January 29-31, 2019.

This year’s CTM was held at the Puerto Rico Convention Center in San Juan. The organisers felt that it “exceeded expectations” by showcasing the resilience of the people of the island and other parts of the Caribbean which are rebounding from the impact of two devastating hurricanes last autumn.

“Next year, Jamaica will once again play host to an important tourism event, which will see thousands of delegates, stakeholders and investors in attendance from across the region. It is an incredible achievement for our country and I am certain we will reap significant benefits,” asserted Bartlett.

Bartlett also announced plans to host another international conference in Montego Bay, with the special focus on Small and Medium Tourism Enterprises in January 2019.

Frank Comito, Director General and Chief Executive Director General, CHTA said, “Jamaica is synonymous with exceptional hospitality, world-renowned culture and incredible beauty. We look forward to continuing to offer our participants a high quality programme to engage with industry peers and promote travel to our region.”
