Uttarakhand CM launches eco-tourism project in Kotdwar

Uttarakhand Tourism recently launched an eco-tourism circuit development and safari vehicles operation project in Pauri district. The Ecotourism Development Corporation of Uttarakhand is charged with developing more eco-tourism circuits in the state. Its main aim is to promote ecologically and culturally sustainable tourism, while also augmenting tourism-generated livelihood opportunities for local communities.
Inaugurating the project in Kotdwar town of Pauri, Trivendra Singh Rawat, Chief Minister, Uttarakhand, said, “Kotdwar is known as the gateway to Garhwal, the launch of state government-run projects like this will also open its doors to development and it would boost tourism and generate self-employment opportunities for the local youth.”
The CM also laid the foundation stones of development projects worth INR 960.77 lakh and handed over cheques of INR 2 lakh each to 200 farmers as loans at 2% interest rate.
