Abu Dhabi Tourism conducts five-city roadshow in India

Abu Dhabi’s Department of Culture and Tourism successfully concluded its five-city roadshow across India which started in Delhi, before moving on to Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad and Kolkata.

Bejan Dinshaw, Country Manager, Department of Culture and Tourism, Abu Dhabi, said, “We would like to acknowledge the phenomenal work done by our trade partners and their constant support to us this year. With a persistent team effort, India has managed to retain its position as a leading overseas source market for Abu Dhabi. I see such roadshows further boosting tourism between India and Abu Dhabi.”

The Department also recently held in its first ‘Abu Dhabi Week in India’ promotional tour for consumers with partners and stakeholders visiting both Mumbai and Delhi to highlight the emirate’s attractions, hotels and landscapes and its rich cultural propositions.

Abu Dhabi welcomed a total of 3.5 million domestic and international hotel guests so far this year with 256,418 Indians have stayed in Abu Dhabi’s 163 hotels and hotel apartments, making India the second largest international source market for tourists into Abu Dhabi.

Indian hotel guest numbers rose to7% so far this year in comparison to 2016 courtesy Etihad Airways and Jet Airways which operates 282 flights a week from 13 Indian destinations.
