Hostelworld launches new ‘Hostel Chat’ feature


Online Hostel room provider, Hostelworld, has launched a new in-app chat function called ‘Hostel Chat’. The new feature has been designed to bring the travellers together who are staying in the same hostel. The new feature which can be found in the ‘My Trips’ section of the app will assist the travellers to know traveller from other parts of the world and will help to create a safer environment amongst the travellers.

Travellers and users of Hostelworld can join Hostel Chat 48 hours before checking into the hostel, offering the opportunity to talk to fellow travellers and make plans during their stay. To ensure chats are always topical and relevant for those staying in the hostel all messages will be refreshed after 48 hours.

The new feature will also help the travellers especially solo travellers to socialise with the fellow travellers and chalk out the travel plan and bond better with the like minded backpackers.

In order to offer people another way in which to meet new people and have unforgettable experiences we created Hostel Chat; space where hostel guests can come together and meet the world.”

The feature is initially available in English for 50 hostels around the world, but Hostelworld plans to roll out the technology in other hostel in the near future.
