IndiGo expands its operations in the Middle East

Consolidating its position in the Middle-East, IndiGo has announceIndid Sharjah as its 6th new international destination. Effective from March, the airline would operate its new daily non-stop flights between Sharjah-Kozhikode, with plans to operate one daily non-stop flight between Sharjah-Thiruvananthapuram from April 2017.
The airline also announced the addition of Doha as its seventh international and 46th overall destination. The direct flights would connect Doha to New Delhi and Mumbai. The new flights have been designed to cater to the business and leisure travellers including the Indian expatriates based in Middle-East.
Sanjay Kumar, Chief Commercial Officer, IndiGo, said, “We are extremely pleased to expand our international network with Sharjah. Middle-East has been an important market for IndiGo. With rising business and tourism stemming from the Gulf market, IndiGo is determined to provide the best travel experience to all those who wish to fly these destinations.”
Commenting on the new flight service to Doha, Aditya Ghosh, President & Whole Time Director, IndiGo said, “Being an economic and cultural hub of Qatar, Doha attracts a lot of business and leisure tourists. Adding Doha on our network is in line with our growth strategy and more so for the Middle-East. IndiGo has established itself as a preferred carrier on India-Gulf routes. We are hopeful that this daily service would also prove equally popular with our flyers.”
